Ms. Onyancha Deborah Mongína is a PhD candidate at the University of Nairobi, Kenya, with a focus on climate change adaptation, particularly through sustainable agricultural practices that enhance resilience to climate impacts. As a participant in the AWARD Climate Action Fellowship, Deborah is committed to advancing climate action initiatives, strongly emphasizing empowering African women in leadership roles. Her work promotes sustainable agriculture that supports climate resilience while fostering equitable solutions to combat land degradation and desertification. Through the Fellowship, Ms. Onyancha aims to inspire early-career scientists and contribute to global efforts to adapt to and mitigate climate change, especially in vulnerable regions.
Onayncha is a PhD student and Graduate Fellow at ILRI with the CGIAR Environment and Biodiversity Impact platform, focusing on sustainable agroecosystem management, environmental resilience, and climate-smart agriculture.
