Policy Dialogue: Toward Gender-Responsive Agricultural and Food Systems Policies in Africa

On August 4, 2022, from 1200hrs to 1330hrs EAT, African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) will host an interactive policy dialogue featuring its Gender Responsive Agriculture Systems Policy (GRASP) Fellowship. The webinar will focus on the new Fellowship and its contribution to the global and regional priorities of agri-food policies.

Following the Call of the GRASP Fellowship targeting Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda, the webinar will provide a forum for potential applicants to learn more about the Fellowship and what to consider during their application.

The webinar will feature a panel of gender, agriculture, and food systems policy experts who will highlight the transformative potential of gender-responsive agricultural policies and the role of AWARD Policy Fellows in fostering policy change for equitable food systems.

Speakers will include:

  • Dr. Seth Kwizera, CEO, Economic Research Policy Network (EPRN), Rwanda
  • Dr. Lilian Kirimi, Senior Research Fellow, Tegemeo Institute of Agricultural Policy & Development, Kenya
  • Dr. Farzana Ramzan, Senior Gender Advisor, United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
  • Dr. Susan Kaaria, Director, AWARD
  • Dr. Michèle Mbo’o-Tchouawou, Deputy Director, Programs, AWARD

We invite you to register and join us as we explore how we can foster policy change for equitable food systems in Africa from 1200hrs to 1330hrs EAT.
