Yesuf Fatie Hairedin
Ethiopia
2023
After witnessing farming-related tribulations in her community growing up, Yesuf Fatie Hairedin was inspired to study Natural Resources and Land Management. Throughout her subsequent career, Yesuf has frequently interacted with smallholders to communicate their challenges to relevant policymakers. Now working in academia, Yesuf continues to inform policymakers and agricultural stakeholders on sustainable land use. Through the GRASP Fellowship, she hopes to build upon her skills in policy implementation – particularly for women farmers.
The Fellowship provides me with an opportunity to harness my skills while inspiring me to take on big projects that can translate into real change for farmers.
