Symphorien Agbahoungba

Symphorien Agbahoungba is a plant breeder and biotechnologist at the Applied Ecology Laboratory in Benin. He holds a PhD in the genetic improvement of plants and biotechnology from Makerere University in Uganda. His research focuses on interactions between plants and pathogens, genetics/genomics, breeding for pest resistance/tolerance, and diseases in cereals and leguminous plants.
Symphorien hopes to become a better scientist in the field of plant breeding and biotechnology in order to contribute to food security and to increase resilience against the negative effects of climate change in Africa.
