Osayomore Endurance Ekhorutomwen is a researcher at the Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR). His research focuses on developing practical environmentally friendly approaches in controlling and managing field and storage diseases of coconut with the aim of improving and increasing coconut and other crop yields of economic importance. His research has the potential of upscaling climate mitigation by protecting, managing and replanting coconut that can adapt to diseases and climate change in Nigeria. He hopes to gain knowledge and skills that will help him communicate the needed climate information required by the relevant stakeholders through partnerships and interventions that will improve measures toward climate change adaptation, enhance gender-responsive agriculture and sustainable food security in Nigeria.
Ekhorutomwen believes that an increase in local and foreign agricultural investments will help create employment and empowerment, increase income, and pivot the country towards achieving zero hunger.
