Marie Daba Sene
Senegal 2020
After obtaining a Master's degree in Sociology specialising in development, Marie Daba Sene took an interest in gender studies related to environmental and sustainable development issues.  Her research thus explores the role of women in agroecology in Senegal, and examines the opportunities and constraints in terms of “social transformation” and the reduction of gender inequality in agriculture.  Her work has led to the publication of research papers, with the most recent entitled: Agroecology: an innovative perspective of women's emancipation in Senegal. Her aim is to encourage the integration of development organisations, making them better equipped to support women in implementing agricultural initiatives for inclusive development.
Her ambition is to develop a multi-stakeholder project by creating a platform to organise all of the women's agroecology networks in Senegal.
