Laura Estelle Loko Yeyinou is a lecturer and researcher in zoology and genetics at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Biosciences et Biotechnologies Appliquées (ENSBBA) of the Université Nationale des Sciences, Technologies, Ingénierie et Mathématiques (UNSTIM), in the Republic of Benin. She holds a PhD in Plant Genetic Resources and Crop Protection from the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC). Her research is focused on the development and implementation of innovative and ecological practices for integrated crop pest management.  She has received several grants and awards such as the L'Oréal-UNESCO Sub-Saharan Africa: For Women in Science Award, in 2014. She is a member of the Academy of Young Scientists of Benin (Académie des Jeunes Scientifiques du Bénin - AJSB), as well as the permanent “Agriculture” and “Education and Ethics” committees of the Benin National Academy of Sciences and Arts (Académie Nationale des Sciences Arts et Lettres du Bénin - ANSALB) and is affiliated to the African Academy of Sciences (AAS). Through her research, she aims to help ensure food security and increase the average income of farmers in Benin, by developing innovative solutions for crop pest management.
To achieve this goal, she is planning to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams working on related subjects.
