Kalenga Banda

Banda Kalenga is a Ph.D. candidate in Horticulture Biology at Cornell University. Her research focuses on the postharvest management of sweet potatoes. Her career aspiration is to make tangible contributions to the welfare of small-holder farmers in Zambia and the sub-Saharan region by conducting high-level research that addresses challenges in the horticulture industry.
She also hopes to expand her research expertise beyond the technical aspects to include more social factors, including gender and how it plays a role in postharvest technology transfer.
