Janvier Egah

Janvier Egah is a lecturer and researcher for the Department of Rural Economics and Sociology (DESR) and the Center for Further Training in Agricultural Sciences (CePeSA) of the Faculty of Agronomy at the University of Parakou (UP).  For more than ten years, he has been working on qualitative and quantitative approaches to agrobiodiversity management issues, rural migration, the adoption and dissemination of agricultural innovations, food security, gender equality, agricultural financing and climate change. Janvier has been Head of the Food Security and Local Development (SADeL) Research Unit of the Society-Environment Laboratory (LaSEn) since 2017. Author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in indexed, high-impact journals, Janvier has participated in many international conferences on various subjects and has received several national and international training and research grants.
In addition, Janvier applies his skills to development issues by offering intellectual services to national and international organisations (GiZ, Helvetas, Technoserve, etc.) to evaluate development programmes and projects, prepare planning documents, and offer expertise in entrepreneurship, food and nutrition security and climate change.
