Maya's doctoral research focuses on the valorization of hemp shiv to produce biobased building materials, such as mortar and binderless particle boards. Her current research focuses on the valorization of agricultural plant waste to create absorbent biobased materials for products like diapers, bandages, and pads, with a significant emphasis on minimizing environmental impact.
