Please save the date, September 16, 2019, to participate in the official launch of the One Planet Fellowship in Nairobi, Kenya. This $20M five-year initiative is investing in up to 630 of the next generation of African and European scientists who are working to help African smallholder farmers adapt to a changing climate.
Expected guests include representatives from key partners including the?Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the?BNP Paribas Group, the?European Union, Canada’s?International Development Research Centre (IDRC), and the?Agropolis Fondation. Also expected are representatives from the Government of Kenya, High Commissioners and members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Kenya, members of the?African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD)?community including the Steering Committee and the Scientific Advisory Panel of the One Planet Fellowship, and other prominent climate change scientists.
The launch event coincides with the inauguration of the first cohort of the One Planet Laureate candidates. Please join us as we celebrate these 45 scientists selected from 12 African countries, as they represent the future of Africa’s capacity to conduct cutting-edge research on climate adaptation.
