Vanessa Kabore
Burkina
2023
Inspired and encouraged by her mother, a Rural Engineer, Vanessa Kaboré became involved in rural development. After gaining a master’s degree in civil and Hydraulic Engineering, she worked as an independent consultant for companies and rural development projects. Her leitmotiv is to consider rural women's needs when formulating and implementing agricultural projects. Vanessa is also working on her thesis on water management for sustainable agriculture. Through the GRASP initiative, she hopes to improve her leadership skills, expand her network, and develop her young career.
As a young female engineer, I often supervise older men. Establishing proper guidelines can be a challenge. My way of dealing with it is to lead by example
