Upon graduating with a degree in Applied Zoology from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Sherifat Ibidunni Adegbesan took up a role at the Ministry of Agriculture in Ogun State – where she still works today as a Principal Fisheries Officer. Empowering women and youth through gender-supportive policies is a notable interest for Sherifat. She has been involved in numerous projects designed to provide them with the tools and knowledge needed to improve their livelihoods. She hopes to enhance her understanding of gender policy in the fisheries sector to push for even greater change.
