Nilda Rosa Francisco
Mozambique
2023
Nilda Rosa Francisco is an animal health researcher working with the Mozambique Institute of Agricultural Research. Focusing on the economics of animal health and production, Nilda acts as a bridge between livestock farmers and researchers – collecting data relating to livestock production and management challenges. Keen to advance her work in this area, she hopes that her time as an AWARD Policy Fellow will provide opportunities to collaborate with other researchers and policymakers. She is also keen to learn how to formulate and implement policies that address livestock production and management through a gender lens.
As women researchers, we must seek to give more meaning to our role in society by constantly challenging the status quo and coming up with innovative and sustainable solutions that local farmers can embrace.
Area of Focus
