Flavia is a Graduate Trainee at the Rainforest Alliance working to address the low participation of women and youth in livestock production activities. She attributes this gap to women not having access to livestock extension services and not having the means, such as land and financing, to livestock ownership.
Many barriers have highly contributed to the under-representation of women in many development sectors, such as limited mobility, lack of information, and gender discrimination. I am keen to advocate for addressing these barriers.
