As a Principal Agricultural Research Officer for the Zambia Agricultural Research Institute (ZARI), Emelin Mwenda helps devise and adapt soil and crop technologies to increase agricultural productivity and diversify production. Having experienced gender bias and related barriers herself during her career, Emelin’s focus is on influencing gender-responsive policies that consider the requirements and capabilities of both men and women. She is keen to expand her network and connect with others to achieve her goal and become influential in driving gender-based policy change.
