Ethiopian Women in Agricultural Research and Development (EWARD) was established to foster knowledge transfer, networking and professional development of women agricultural scientists across the nine regional states of Ethiopia to accelerate agricultural productivity. EWARD will fill the gap by encouraging the innovation of women scientist, educators, researchers and policy makers which will contribute to the prosperity and well-being of Ethiopian farmers. EWARD, started out with 6 fellows and fellow mentees and has since grown to 50 members. EWARD aims to mobilize women and girls to participate in agriculture and agricultural research thus building Ethiopia’s capacity in the field of research and science.
