Ms. Onyancha Deborah Mongína is a Graduate Researcher at the University of Nairobi, Kenya, specializing in climate change adaptation through sustainable agricultural practices. As a Fellow in the AWARD Climate Action Fellowship, she is dedicated to empowering African women in climate leadership and advancing climate-resilient agriculture. Her work focuses on promoting equitable, sustainable solutions to land degradation and desertification, especially in vulnerable communities. Deborah has also served as a Researcher and Graduate Fellow at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) under the CGIAR Environment and Biodiversity Impact Platform, where she contributed to sustainable agroecosystem management and climate-smart agriculture. Passionate about mentoring early-career scientists, she seeks to inspire a new generation of African researchers to lead in environmental resilience and global climate action.
