Makokha Jackline Nekesa serves as a Director of Gender in the Kenyan Government’s State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action under the Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts, and Heritage. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and German Language and a Master’s degree in Gender and Development Studies from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Additionally, she has completed various specialized training programs nationally and internationally, including Gender Policy Management, Leadership and Governance, Gender and Climate Change, and Project Monitoring and Evaluation. She currently serves as Kenya’s National Gender and Climate Change Focal Point under the UNFCCC framework.
She specializes in gender mainstreaming and women's empowerment, focusing on integrating gender considerations into programs, policies, and administrative procedures.
