Helen Olayinka Ogunsuyi
Nigeria 2015
Helen Olayinka Ogunsuyi was raised in Ondo state as the third child in a family of eight children. Now herself a mother of five, she is grateful for the support of her husband, who has encouraged her throughout her studies and her career. She completed her bachelor’s, master’s and PhD in chemistry-related disciplines, and is an analytical chemist with a special focus on fuel chemistry. As a lecturer and researcher at FUTA, she teaches and supervises a range of students, from undergraduates to post-graduates.
I want to give back to the Federal University of Technology by transferring skills and technologies to my peers.
Field of Research
My long-term goal is to promote sweet potato bio-ethanol among rural women in Nigeria, and Africa, to curtail deforestation.
