AWARD Strategy 2017 - 2022

Dear AWARD friends and partners,

On behalf of the Steering Committee and staff team at AWARD, I am excited to share with you the AWARD Strategy 2017-2022.

AWARD’s new strategy is informed by numerous consultations with partners and other sector stakeholders as well as a rigorous review of M&E data from the last 9 years of the AWARD Fellowship. Thank you for walking this journey with us and for the gift of your feedback and wisdom throughout the process.

Our new strategy captures the scale of AWARD’s ambition through our refreshed vision and mission statements. The document also details the programmatic activities we intend to engage in from 2017 to 2022. Allow me to draw particular attention to the document’s executive summary which succinctly captures the highlights of the strategy.

Now that AWARD is growing beyond our flagship fellowship and work to build more gender-responsive agricultural research institutions and agribusinesses, I’m eager to explore ways that we can grow our collaboration with our partners.

In what ways would you like to partner with AWARD as, together, we work toward inclusive agriculture-driven prosperity for Africa?

My team and I are excited to hear from you.

Dr. Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg
Director, AWARD
