African Women in Agricultural Research for Development (AWARD) partnered with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), CGIAR Gender Impact Platform, and CARE International to convene a special event at the Africa Food Systems Forum 2024 (AFS2024).

This session focused on a forthcoming report, “Women in African Agrifood Systems,” which analyzed evidence on women’s roles in African agrifood sectors. The discussions highlighted key findings and recommendations for accelerating gender-equitable food system transformation.
