Partner Event on the Status of Women in Agrifood Systems – Deep Dive and Discussion on the FAO Report

Organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the event aimed to present and discuss the 2023 Status of Women in Agrifood Systems report, recently published by FAO. The discussion highlighted its relevance in accelerating an inclusive, resilient, gender-responsive rural transformation. The event also provided ample opportunity for relevant stakeholders to share insights and lessons from their own work on empowering women in agrifood systems. The main topics included the role of women in agrifood systems, ongoing gender-based challenges, new data and evidence available, and recommendations for increased gender equality in agrifood systems.
