How can we ensure that women equitably benefit from agricultural innovations and actively participate in transforming agrifood systems in a changing climate in this digital era?

Africa Women in Agricultural Research for Development (AWARD), together with the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC), CABI, Global Solutions Initiative, and Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition will convene a side event at the Africa Food Systems Forum 2024 (AFS Forum 2024) to explore how we can leverage gender-responsive approaches to drive food systems transformation.

This session will present approaches, strategies, policy frameworks, and best practices that have improved women’s engagement and facilitated their meaningful participation in agrifood systems. Discussions will also focus on the gaps in equitable food systems and how we can further leverage gender responsiveness for accelerated transformation.
