Edwin Kamau Wanjiku
Kenya 2021
Edwin Kamau is currently working to promote food and nutrition security in northern Kenya by producing high-quality insect protein at the household level. He believes that insects can significantly improve the food security situation in arid and semi-arid regions worldwide since they are a definitive source of high-quality proteins and micronutrients. He has trained over 1000 households in climate-smart crop and animal techniques throughout his career and completed and published three research articles and a book chapter in peer-reviewed journals.
Edwin's long-term career aspiration is to work in the development sector as a food system and climate change expert and mentor his team and junior colleagues in development and research.
