#FellowsinFocus: Rising to Improved Rice Farming Methods for Enhanced Production in Ghana

Per capita, rice consumption in Ghana is steadily increasing due to the increase in population and shift in consumption patterns caused by urbanization. However, due to environmental changes and poor farming methods, farmers cannot keep up with the increase in demand. 2018 AWARD Fellow Dr. Patricia Oteng-Darko is working with local farmers and extension officers on new and improved methods to plug the market deficit and improve smallholders’ livelihoods.
