2025 Ms. Solange Nyiraguhirwa is a Lecturer and Researcher specializing in genetics, plant breeding, and biotechnology. Her work focuses on developing resilient, nutritious, and farmer-preferred crop varieties through genomic tools and plant breeding. Passionate about gender equity, she empowers smallholder farmers by connecting science with practical solutions. She has contributed to food security research, including GWAS in barley, and advocates for policies that support women farmers. Solange is committed to mentoring young scientists and championing inclusive agricultural innovation across Africa.
