2025
Ms. Joyce Ahmadu is a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Expert focused on advancing gender-equitable access to land and productive resources in Nigeria’s agricultural sector, particularly within Regenerative Agriculture (RA). Her work on Project Juriya, an RA initiative, tackles structural barriers limiting women’s land ownership and control. Joyce engages traditional leaders, advocates for policy reforms, and empowers women with negotiation skills, yielding increased stakeholder awareness, policy wins, and stronger government dialogue. With six years of supporting Canada’s development programme in Nigeria, she earned recognition from Global Affairs Canada for her policy advocacy. She has also led gender and knowledge management initiatives for UNICEF, UN Women, and the MasterCard Foundation. Aspiring to drive gender-responsive agricultural policy reform globally, Joyce seeks to strengthen her policy design, stakeholder engagement, and cross-country learning expertise
