Ms. Florence Kamwana is a Research Scientist based at Chitedze Agricultural Research Station, specializing in agronomy and plant breeding. She works on sustainable and inclusive agricultural innovations targeting smallholder farmers in Malawi, focusing on evaluating legume crops such as soybean, cowpea, and pigeon pea. Kamwana leads on-station and on-farm trials to inform technology development and dissemination. She is actively involved in the Sustainable Intensification of Mixed Farming Systems (SI-MFS) project in Central Malawi, promoting integrated crop-livestock systems, gender equity, and improved market access. She collaborates with national and international partners to scale demand-driven innovations that build resilient and sustainable farming systems across diverse communities.
