Doreen Tekedese is a gender equity and social inclusion expert passionate about empowering women and ensuring gender equality. In her pursuit for inclusivity, a highlight has been training illiterate women to prepare business plans so they can launch and support successful business ventures. With a host of academic credentials and projects to her name, Doreen now aims to devise and influence more gender-responsive policies.
I do not leave any woman behind on account that they cannot read or write. I believe that if women can farm, they can also come up with business plans and succeed.

Development of gender responsive budgets that are helpful on improved targeting that
ensures consistency between economic goals in agriculture as well as social commitments.
