Orji Chika Ebele is a passionate, result-driven development professional with over six years of experience advancing inclusive agricultural policies and gender-responsive development, working with smallholder women farmers. As the Programme and Communication Officer at the Smallholder Women Farmers Organization in Nigeria (SWOFON), she leads initiatives that enhance public investment in agriculture and amplify the voices of rural women in policymaking. She coordinates advocacy campaigns, stakeholder engagements, and donor-funded projects, ensuring strategic impact at the grassroots and policy levels. Her work has empowered over 100,000 smallholder women farmers across 18 states through data-driven interventions, village savings groups, and targeted communications strategies. Recently, she was instrumental in launching Nigeria’s first Agriculture Intelligence Unit (AIU) in Kaduna State. A pioneering initiative for data-informed, inclusive agriculture. With expertise in feminist policy advocacy, agroecology, M&E systems, and government engagement, Orji is dedicated to bridging policy gaps and transforming Nigeria’s agrifood systems for sustainable impact.
