Research Training Specialist and Managing Consultant
Mr. Rodger Obubo started his professional career in agricultural planning. He worked at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) as Research Training Specialist. In these capacities, he helped to design and run training courses in agricultural technologies all over sub-Saharan Africa before joining CTA as Training Programmes Manager in 2002 At CTA, Mr. Obubo was involved in designing, administering, and delivering face-to-face courses in 78 countries in Africa, The Caribbean, and the South Pacific. He helped to initiate e-learning programs at CTA in joint activities with FAO, UNITAR, and the University of Pretoria. He was trained in the University College of Wales (now Aberystwyth University) in Great Britain. Mr. Obubo has served as a member of the technical advisory committee on capacity building of Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) and a member of the Steering Group of FAO's Information Management Resource Kit (IMARK) consortium. He serves as Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture Development providing guidance on agricultural policies and projects to improve agricultural development in the State. Mr. Obubo has co-authored a book on scientific writing, one of his areas of interest, and is the Reviewer/ Technical Editor of the Pro-Agro Collection.
