2025 Faith Millongo is a PhD student in Applied Data Science and serves as Policy, Research, and Partnerships Officer at the Farmers Union of Malawi. Her work links predictive insights to targeted interventions bridging the gap between data science and policy and contributing to adaptive, anticipatory systems that safeguard livelihoods against climate shocks in Malawi. Specifically, she focuses on enhancing drought early warning systems by integrating geospatial data science with social protection strategies to strengthen the resilience of smallholder farmers. She also combines satellite datasets with household survey data to model localized drought vulnerability, producing high-resolution maps to identify populations at risk of food insecurity and livelihood loss.
