Mariye Melkam Taye, a junior researcher at EIAR Mehoni Agricultural Research Centre, graduated with a BSc in Animal Science from Wollo University in 2018. She is currently working on animal feed and nutrition; feeds account for 70-80% of total cost in animal production and there is need to investigate how these could be reduced, especially for smallholder farmers.
Taye is keen on conducting genderresponsive research to positively impact the lives of smallholder farmers.
