Tamala Mataka is a Climate Change Projects Coordinator at the Centre for Environmental Policy and Advocacy, where she advances environmental sustainability through research and policy advocacy. She coordinates the Promoting Organic Systems of Soil Improvement to Build a Lasting Economy project, which promotes climate-smart agriculture practices such as composting, intercropping, mulching, and zero tillage. Her work includes advocating for the integration of organic inputs into Malawi’s Affordable Inputs Programme, generating evidence on compost benefits for soil fertility, and championing gender and social inclusion by supporting women in compost value chains and empowering smallholder farmers.
