Sichinga Ivy Ligowe is a crop agronomist with over 15 years of experience advancing climate-resilient and nutrition-sensitive farming in Sub-Saharan Africa. She specializes in sustainable intensification, soil health management, and gender-responsive climate adaptation. Her research on climate-smart agriculture—including conservation farming, integrated soil fertility, and maize–legume systems—has boosted yields, improved soil health, and reduced erosion. She also leads geo-nutrition studies linking soil quality, crop nutrients, and human health. Committed to women’s empowerment, she integrates participatory approaches that expand farmers’ access to resources. Through collaborations with global research institutions, she translates science into scalable solutions for food and nutrition security.
