Mbenya Rosinah currently serves as the Country Coordinator at PELUM Kenya, a network dedicated to advancing agroecological principles among smallholder farmers and pastoralists. With over 14 years of experience in development projects, she has vast expertise in agroecology, climate change, market development, advocacy, capacity building, and networking. As an environmentalist, Mbenya is passionate about transforming rural communities, particularly women's and youth's livelihoods, through eco-friendly agricultural practices. Mbenya’s accomplishments include receiving the prestigious Leading African Women in Food Fellowship Award, being recognized by the Agroecology Leadership Academy, and winning the Women in Ag Awards 2024. She actively contributes to the agricultural sector as a board member of the Effective IPM Association and a steering committee member of various initiatives, including the Ecological Organic Agriculture Initiative (EOAI) at the continental, regional, and national levels, African Women Leaders in Agroecology, and the Kenya National Committee of Family Farming. Additionally, she is a dedicated peri-urban small-scale farmer.
Mbenya's expertise includes networking, partnership building, and advocacy, particularly for smallholder farmers and promoting agroecology as a climate-resilient practice.
