Dr. Salome Mutayoba is currently a Visiting Researcher at Novus International, Inc., investigating the improvement of nutritive value of animal feed ingredients commonly found in Africa. Her program is part of the collaboration between Novus and African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD). In 2009, Dr. Mutayoba won a fellowship from AWARD, a professional development program that strengthens the research and leadership skills of African women in agricultural science, empowering them to contribute more effectively to poverty alleviation and food security in sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr. Mutayoba has been actively engaged in research, mainly focused on animal feeds and local knowledge in animal and poultry production with funding from various sources including the Government of Tanzania, the Danish International Development Agency, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation, and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s LinKS program.
