AWARD Fellowships are awarded based on intellectual merit, leadership capacity, and the potential impact of the scientist’s research on improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. AWARD Fellows benefit from a program that fosters mentoring partnerships, builds science skills, and develops leadership capacity. They remain in their institutions, continue their research, and travel to participate in AWARD training courses in various African locations.
Since 2008, our fellowships have benefitted 1,872 individual scientists from more than 450 institutions in 26 countries. Currently, we implement the Programs under the One Planet Fellowship and the Gender Responsive Agriculture Systems Policy (GRASP) Fellowship.
