Haimanot Ambachew Goshu conducts research at the intersection of data science, artificial intelligence, and agriculture, aiming to enhance crop productivity and food security. She applies machine learning and deep learning to develop predictive models for crop yield estimation, crop recommendations, and the early detection of plant diseases and nutrient deficiencies, utilizing satellite imagery, soil data, and leaf images. Her work supports precision agriculture and resource-efficient farming by integrating data-driven insights with agronomic knowledge. Through these innovations, she helps farmers and policymakers make informed decisions, promoting sustainability, climate resilience, and improved livelihoods, while advancing smart agriculture and national food security.
