Peace Bamurigire
Rwanda
2025 Dr. Peace Bamurigireis a lecturer in the Department of Information Technology at the University of Rwanda’s College of Science and Technology. She holds a PhD in Embedded Computing Systems and specializes in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and embedded systems. Her work focuses on smart agriculture, notably leading the development of an AI- and IoT-powered irrigation and fertigation system for rice farmers in Rwanda’s Muvumba Valley. Recognized with the 2023 Women Researcher award by National Commission for Science and Technology (NCST), Peace also contributes to smart healthcare, public safety, and environmental monitoring. She champions digital transformation through impactful, community-driven technology innovations.
