Sangwani Rebeccah Gondwe
Malawi
2025
Dr. Sangwani Rebeccah Gondwe is a researcher and development professional specializing in agricultural risk assessment and risk management, emphasizing women farmers facing limited access to financing, markets, and extension services. Her work addresses critical challenges in agricultural production, where risks, ranging from production to market volatility, disproportionately affect smallholder farmers, particularly women. With a career dedicated to building climate-resilient and market-oriented communities, she has conducted assessments of agricultural risks in Malawi and strengthened farmer cooperatives. Her efforts include facilitating access to finance, technology, and extension services for high-value commodities. Aspiring to influence food systems policy, Sangwani aims to promote gender equality, market efficiency, and climate resilience while mentoring future professionals in the field.
