Pauline Aarakit
Uganda
2025
Dr. Pauline Aarakit is a dedicated researcher working on improving seed systems in Uganda. Her current work addresses the scarcity of quality, disease-free potato seed—less than 5% is certified—by exploring the use of biostimulants to reduce tuber dormancy and promote sprouting. This innovation aims to enhance seed potato production efficiency and sustainability. Pauline aspires to become a leading expert and entrepreneur in seed multiplication, ensuring accessible seed systems, especially for women farmers. Passionate about women’s empowerment, she is committed to advancing female participation in agricultural policy and decision-making, driving inclusive and transformative change in Uganda’s agricultural sector.
