Dr. Lami Wamdeo Jinatu is a gender and agricultural policy researcher focusing on integrating gender equity into sustainable pest management for smallholder farmers in West Africa. She has led gender-responsive nutrition programs in Borno, Nigeria, benefiting over 5,000 women and children. As founder of the Steps for Progress Empowerment Initiative, she connects women to training, microloans, and climate-resilient farming. Lami’s work bridges science, policy, and advocacy to ensure women’s voices shape inclusive, climate-smart agri-food systems in Nigeria and beyond.
