Hedwig Acham

2025 Dr. Hedwig Acham is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Food Technology and Nutrition at Makerere University. With a Ph.D. in Agriculture (Nutrition), she has over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and community engagement. Her research focuses on nutrition, food security, and their effects on health and academic outcomes, especially among school children. Hedwig has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and contributed to developing maternal and child nutrition training materials. She is the founder of the Women's Empowerment Initiative-Kirinya and is a member of several professional bodies committed to advancing nutrition policy and education in Africa.
