Dr. Altine Nuhu James is a seasoned expert in integrating gender and diversity into market-based rural agriculture to enhance livelihoods. Her work ranges from gender-responsive value chains to agribusiness development to inclusive stakeholder engagement. She has led initiatives promoting women’s access to income and assets, farmer-herder dialogue, and the empowerment of marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities. As a Gender Action Learning System (GALS) and Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (GEWE) facilitator, she advances gender transformation through strategic planning, training, and youth-focused enterprise models. Altine is passionate about shaping inclusive public service systems and supporting gender-responsive policy implementation for equitable local governance.
