Salome Owuonda is the Executive Director of the Africa Centre for Sustainable and Inclusive Development (Africa CSID). She champions climate action at the nexus of food systems, gender, livelihoods, and peacebuilding. Her work advances community-led solutions in agroecology, zero-waste circular farming, and nature-based adaptation, while empowering women, youth, and children as change agents. Salome actively contributes to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiations and African climate diplomacy, ensuring grassroots voices shape global action. She also consults grassroots and international organizations on gender integration in development, driving inclusive, resilient, and equitable futures across Africa.
