Pearl Nutifafa Yakanu specializes in Agricultural Machinery Engineering, developing innovative mechanization solutions for smallholder farmers. Her work focuses on climate-smart agriculture, emphasizing soil conservation, efficient irrigation, and resilient cropping systems. She is leading research on tigernut mechanization, designing affordable harvesters to boost productivity, reduce drudgery, and empower women farmers in Ghana. With rising demand for tigernut in the food and beverage industries, her innovations target post-harvest efficiency and income generation. Pearl also promotes cassava as a climate-smart crop, advancing mechanization along its value chain to enhance food security, sustainability, and rural livelihoods.
Her work focuses on climate-smart agriculture, emphasizing soil conservation, efficient irrigation, and resilient cropping systems.
