The Zambian Women in Agricultural Research and Development (Za-WARD) is one of AWARD's country chapters. It was created to provide a continuation of the AWARD program on career development through visibility, science and leadership training. It constitutes a network of past and current AWARD fellows and mentees. Led by, Dr Rhoda Mofya-Mukuka who is a 2008 fellow and 2013 mentor, the chapter has a membership of close to 150 fellows and mentees.

“We are looking to empower Zambian agricultural scientists by making them technically stronger, better networked and visible in order to deliver effective solutions for small holder farmers,” Mukuka explains.
